Empowering Youth: A Teen Talk on the Impact of Underage Sex at Breman JHS 'A' Kumasi Ghana.

IDECO organized a transformative Teen Talk session at Breman JHS 'A' in Kumasi, Ghana, focusing on the pressing issue of underage sex and its long-term consequences. The program was designed to educate students about the risks associated with early sexual engagement, including health complications, emotional challenges, and the impact it could have on their education and future aspirations. By addressing these issues, IDECO reinforced its commitment to youth empowerment and community well-being, aligning its efforts with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. This initiative directly supported SDG 3, which promotes good health and well-being by ensuring young people are aware of the risks of early sexual activity; SDG 4, which emphasizes quality education by encouraging students to focus on their learning and personal development; and SDG 5, which raises gender equality by equipping both boys and girls with the knowledge to make informed decisions and uphold self-respect.

The session was designed to be highly interactive, creating an engaging space where students could actively participate and express their concerns. A question-and-answer segment allowed them to ask insightful questions and receive expert responses, increasing a deeper understanding of the topic. To make the learning experience even more impactful, a drama performance brought real-life scenarios to the stage, vividly illustrating the consequences of underage sex. This creative approach helped students connect with the message on a more personal level, making it easier for them to retain the key lessons.

To further support the students, IDECO provided them with stationery and distributed educational flyers inscribed with powerful slogans that emphasized self-respect, informed choices, and the importance of prioritizing their personal growth. These materials served as lasting reminders of the discussions held during the session, reinforcing the core messages long after the event had ended.

Recognizing the importance of expanding this initiative, IDECO is calling on organizations, individuals, and well-wishers to join in its mission to raise awareness about the dangers of underage sex. Donations and contributions, whether in the form of educational materials, financial support, or partnerships, will help sustain and extend the Teen Talk program to reach more schools and communities. By coming together, supporters can empower young people to make informed choices, protect their health, and secure their futures.

Through this initiative, IDECO continues to demonstrate its unwavering dedication to empowering young minds, fostering healthier communities, and promoting education and well-being for all.

By working together, we can create a brighter and healthier future for the next generation.
